With five global manufacturing facilities, Edmund Optics supplies industries around the world with precision optical components and subassemblies. Edmund Optics® manufactures over 2 million precision optical components and 135,000 optical and imaging assemblies every year in our global manufacturing facilities. Edmund Optics' headquarters in Barrington, New Jersey is home to an ISO 9001 certified and ITAR compliant manufacturing space including rapid lens prototyping, a modification shop for modifying any stock optic in two to three weeks, diamond turning precision optics out of glass, plastic, and crystalline materials, high precision optomechanical assembly including imaging lenses and laser beam expanders, and an optical thin film coating cell. Barrington also houses Edmund Optics' manufacturing research and development center. Edmund Optics' ISO 9001 certified and ITAR compliant Singapore facility is vertically integrated for OEM production of optical components. The high volume asphere cell operates 24 hours a day to produce thousands of precision aspheres each month, and prisms are manufactured to consistently meet sub arcsecond angle tolerances in volume. Double-sided flat polishing produces twentieth wave windows, mirrors, and filters, and the Singapore facility contains 8 coating chambers for volume production. Edmund Optics' ITAR compliant facility in Akita, Japan features class 10,000 clean rooms and class 100 laminar flow booths to minimize contamination. The Akita facility has over 50 years of experience in spherical lens fabrication and features state of the art coatings. Edmund Optics ISO 9001 certified facility in Shenzhen, China specializes in the high volume assembly of imaging and other optomechanical assemblies. This location also houses an optical and mechanical design center and a prototyping cell. The Shenzhen facility features class 1,000 clean rooms and class 100 laminar flow booths. On-site testing, including MTF testing and reverse projection, ensures that all assemblies meet their specified performance. ITOS, a division of Edmund Optics in Mainz, Germany, acts as Edmund Optics' European manufacturing base for polarizers and filters. ITOS has 20 years of experience in polarizer and filter manufacturing. All manufacturing sites utilize in-process metrology including profilometers, interferometers, and spectrophotometers.
