Edmund Optics®, a leading global supplier of optical components and solutions, is pleased to announce the addition of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Phantoms and Diffuse Reflectance Phantoms to their extensive product portfolio, now providing off-the-shelf, standardized ready-to-use tools for researchers and engineers for the calibration and optimization of imaging systems in research and clinical applications.

Edmund Optics’ newly added Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Phantoms offer a controlled sample for testing and calibrating OCT systems featuring well-characterized optical properties like refractive index, scattering coefficient, and absorption coefficient for ensuring accurate and reliable measurements. Now available off-the-shelf in designs including Point Spread, Multilayer, Pyramid, and Multipurpose, these phantoms ensure accurate testing of system parameters like depth resolution, image contrast, and sensitivity, providing consistency across clinical and research measurements.

Additionally, the newly added Diffuse Reflectance Phantoms simulate the optical properties of biological tissues for calibration, characterization, and analysis in biophotonics applications. Now available off-the-shelf in sizes of 25 x 25 mm and 50 x 50 mm for muscle, brain, and adipose tissue, these phantoms are ideal for applications like spatial frequency domain imaging, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, diffuse Raman spectroscopy, and more.
