Edmund Optics®, the premier provider of optical components, is now accepting applications for their 2014 Educational Award. This annual award acknowledges interesting projects involving optics that will have an impact on tomorrow’s applications. In 2014 Edmund Optics will distribute 45 global awards in the form of products ranging in price from $500 to $10,000. Applicants must be from undergraduate and graduate programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at non-profit colleges and universities working on such projects.
After more than five years of growing success and enthusiasm for their Higher Education Grant Program, Edmund Optics has combined their regional grant programs into one global Educational Award program. As in previous years, the Edmund Optics Educational Award will recognize cutting-edge research around the globe. This year’s program has grown to include 15 awards per region -- the Americas, Europe, and Asia -- 45 in total.
The 2014 Educational Award, kicked off at Photonics West, consists of Gold ($10,000 in products), Silver ($7,500 in products) and Bronze ($5,000 in products) awards plus 12 matching awards ($500 each in Edmund Optics TECHSPEC® products), in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Similar prizes in local currencies are awarded in each region.
Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2014, at www.edmundoptics.com/award or from the company’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/edmundoptics.
"Given the tremendous success of the research programs we have supported over the past years, it is exciting to announce the expansion of this program into the Edmund Optics Educational Award," said Kirsten Bjork-Jones, Director of Global Marketing Communications. "The Edmund Optics Educational Award reinforces our commitment to stimulating cutting-edge research and optical innovation. With the new Edmund Optics Educational Award, we hope to create even more visibility for the diversity of research around the world. I would encourage anyone involved in a project using optics, opto-mechanics or imaging components at a college or university to apply.”
To apply for an Edmund Optics Educational Award, just visit www.edmundoptics.com/award and click on the "Apply Now" button or visit the company’s Facebook page to access the quick and easy 8 minute application.
